Mountain Resource Center Chosen as Colorado Natural Gas COVID-19 Relief Recipient

CENTENNIAL, CO – Colorado Natural Gas (CNG) will donate $1,000 to Mountain Resource Center as part of the company’s COVID-19 relief efforts. The organization will use the donation to supply COVID-19 relief support to Veterans, displaced hospitality workers, and food pantry items to those who need assistance in the Conifer, Evergreen, Bailey, and surrounding areas.

“We are committed to working together to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic crisis,” said, Sarah Kinzer, Chief Executive Officer, Mountain Resource Center. “We are extremely grateful for the CNG donation, which will considerably assist us in providing for the increased disaster relief demand during the current pandemic.”

“Providing these resources to Mountain Resource Center is one way that we can support our customers and community members who are immediately impacted by the COVID-19 crisis,” said Jason Weekley, Chief Operations Officer, Summit Utilities. “We understand that we are all in this together and that the Mountain Resource Center plays a critical role serving a 1000+ square mile mountain area. Serving a large population in West Jefferson, Clear Creek, Gilpin and Park counties.

The company has committed $20,000 overall to COVID-19 relief efforts in Colorado. In addition to donating to the Mountain Resource Center the company is also contributing to Bennett Community Food Bank, Care and Share Food Bank of Southern Colorado, Community Care Foundation/ Aspen Mine Center, Deer Trail Food Bank, Eastern Plains Women’s Resource Center, Energy Outreach Colorado, Gilpin County Food Bank, Grace Baptist Food Bank, LifeBridge Food Bank, Little Chapel Food Bank, Seniors Alliance of Platte County and South Park Food Bank.

On top of providing financial support to nonprofit organizations throughout its service territories, CNG has also suspended natural gas disconnections for nonpayment and is working with customers who may need payment assistance, arrangements, or extensions.
