At Colorado Natural Gas, we understand that we are only as strong as the communities we serve, which is why each year we partner with local charitable organizations, schools, industry groups and our employees to give back to those we serve and their communities with these goals in mind:

Support the betterment of the communities and people we serve, enhance relationships within the communities, and support business development and growth.

Community Partnerships

Recently, Colorado Natural Gas launched a company-wide campaign supporting United Way. Beginning in 2018, CNG will partner with the United Way to raise money for charitable organizations throughout our communities. Employees can help by being an advocate, giving, and/or volunteering with the United Way. The company will also match employee contributions to the United Way Campaign up to $5,000 annually.

United Way mobilizes our community in ways that no single agency, individual, or government can to enhance the ability of people to care for one another. It is a global organization that works with communities around the world to help provide education, financial stability, and health. We partnered with United Way because the organization makes the most of every dollar by focusing efforts on strategies for long-term change and by investing in proven programs and initiatives. Our choice means that the dollars we donate are working for good right in the local communities we serve. Click here to find a United Way near you!

Arbor Day Sponsorships

To celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day, Colorado Natural Gas partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation to offer 100 customers a free tree. Planting trees is one of the ways to reduce household heating and cooling costs and increase a home’s energy efficiency. In addition, planting trees in a yard can provide tangible community benefits like stormwater runoff reduction, improved air quality, and beautification of neighborhoods.

Customers in Pueblo West and the eastern plains were able to reserve a free tree at the end of April, and recently picked them up at two events held in each district area. In addition to giving trees to customers, CNG also sponsored 500 seedlings to be planted by the Arbor Day Foundation in Pike National Forest. These seedlings will aid in a reforestation project and allow the forest to recover faster from recent wildfires.

Colorado Natural Gas sponsors events throughout the year in the communities we service. Some of the events and sponsorships in 2018 included:

  • Chambers of Commerce
  • County fairs
  • Festivals
  • Little Leagues

Volunteering in our Communities

In addition to regular paid time off, Colorado Natural Gas also provides each employee with 20 hours of paid time off annually to use towards volunteering with non-profit organizations. Employees have used their volunteer time to work at a Habitat for Humanity job site, coach sports teams, teach in school classrooms, and staff booths at county fairs, among other tasks. In 2018, employees across the company donated over 25 weeks of volunteer time!

School Safety Presentations

One of our core values as a company is safety. Because of this, Colorado Natural Gas is bringing a natural gas safety presentation for kids to local schools! The presentation is focused on educating 3rd-4th graders on natural gas and how to be safe using it. Core ideas include “call 8-1-1 before you dig”, safety around construction sites, and what to do if you smell gas. For more information and to request a presentation, please contact us at, or fill out the interest form below.
