At Colorado Natural Gas, we understand that we are only as strong as the communities we serve. That’s why each year we partner with local charitable organizations, schools, industry groups and our employees to give back to those we serve and their communities with these goals in mind::

Support the betterment of the communities and people we serve, enhance relationships within the communities, and support business development and growth.

Community Partnerships

United Way mobilizes our community in ways that no single agency, individual, or government can enhance the ability of people to care for one another. That’s why Colorado Natural Gas partners with the United Way to raise money for charitable organizations throughout our communities. Team members can help by being an advocate, giving, and/or volunteering with the United Way. The company will match employee contributions of up to $5,000 annually to the United Way Campaign.

Deer Trail Rodeo

After being postponed in 2020 due to pandemic restrictions, Deer Trail Rodeo returned July 9-11, 2021. CNG team members took advantage of their 20-hour volunteer time off benefit to help set up rodeo events during the week. Team members also participated in the rodeo’s parade by handing out candy, souvenirs, and 811 safety fliers to promote community wellbeing.

Sponsorships

Colorado Natural Gas sponsors events throughout the year in the communities we service. Some of those events and sponsorships includes:

  • Chambers of Commerce
  • Community Events
  • Food Banks
  • Environmental

Volunteer Time Off (VTO)

To further show our investment in the communities we operate in, we aim to go beyond charitable giving in a monetary form. After all, to be truly dedicated requires not only financial assistance but an investment of time as well. Summit’s volunteer time off (VTO) program is something we consider a perk for both our team members and our communities. VTO allows our team to give back to the local areas we serve, it promotes personal growth, self-esteem, and it’s fun and brings people together!

More great reasons our team members love Summit VTO:

  • VTO reduces stress and makes for a healthier workplace
  • VTO unites people from diverse backgrounds to work towards a common goal
  • VTO works to strengthen our communities
  • VTO encourages civic responsibility

School Safety Presentations

One of our core values as a company is safety. Because of this, Colorado Natural Gas is bringing a natural gas safety presentation for kids to local schools! The presentation is focused on educating 3rd-4th graders on natural gas and how to be safe using it. Core ideas include “call 8-1-1 before you dig”, safety around construction sites, and what to do if you smell gas. For more information and to request a presentation, please contact us at communityaffairs@summitutilitiesinc.com, or fill out the interest form below.
