Colorado Natural Gas Enters Final Year of $60,000 Charitable Giving Commitment to Local Non-Profits

Centennial, Colorado (April 24, 2025) – Colorado Natural Gas (CNG), a subsidiary of Summit Utilities, Inc. (Summit), is proud to kick off the third and final year of its Summit Cares Charitable Giving Grant Program, a $60,000, three-year commitment supporting four non-profit organizations serving communities across CNG’s service territory.

“CNG believes we’re only as strong as the communities we serve,” said Fred Kirkwood, SVP and Chief Customer Experience Officer. “This grant program is about creating lasting impact, not just through financial support, but through meaningful relationships with organizations doing the work on the ground every day.”

2023–2025 Grant Recipients:

  • Community Partnership Family Resource Center
  • Mountain Resource Center
  • Pueblo United
  • Spark The Change Colorado

Each of the non-profits selected in 2023 has received a grant annually since the program’s launch, bringing Summit’s total investment in local community support to $60,000 by the end of 2025. The goal of the multi-year grant program is to provide non-profit partners with sustained funding so they can plan ahead and focus more on delivering critical services and less on fundraising.

These organizations were chosen based on their alignment with CNG’s four core giving focus areas: Basic Human Needs, Community Enrichment, Environmental Stewardship, and STEAM Education.

In addition to financial support, CNG also empowers employees to give back, offering up to 20 hours of paid volunteer time annually for team members to support local organizations and causes.
