As you may have read or seen on the news lately, the cost of energy, including natural gas, is increasing across the United States and around the world as we head into winter months. This is being driven by increased demand and decreased production caused by extreme weather events and the impacts of COVID-19.
At Colorado Natural Gas, we work hard to secure the lowest gas price for our customers and do not make a profit off of the cost of natural gas we deliver to you. While natural gas continues to be the most affordable option for heating your home or business this winter, the commodity price on your upcoming winter heating bills is predicted to be higher than last winter.
With that in mind, we wanted to take the opportunity to remind you of simple steps you can take to reduce your energy usage, save money, and stay warm this winter season.

If you or someone you know are having trouble paying utility bills, there are a number of agencies with funds (federal, state, and private) that may be able to help low-income families or needy individuals. The Social Services Department handles LEAP (Low-Income Energy Assistance Program) funds provided by the Federal Government. LEAP applications will be accepted November 1st through April 30th. Call your local Social Services Department for all the details and application form or visit http://www.cdhs.state.co.us/leap/index.htm. You might also be eligible for utility bill payment assistance from Energy Outreach Colorado. Please call 1-866-HEAT-HELP or visit https://www.energyoutreach.org/ to see if you qualify.
